Trailways
When the sun came up today It showed the way – and it was clear. The trail was bright, illuminated and interesting. Nothing will hinder the course set before. Today is like no other. No yesterday. No tomorrow – Merely now. – RG

Practice Makes Perfect
Have you ever started thanking God for one thing, and the list keeps getting longer and longer? It’s so good to remind ourselves about who and what we are blessed with, rather than moaning about what we think we are supposed to have! Today, it is cloudy, foggy and generally dreary out – but not on the inside! I encourage you to take a moment (or ten) and remind yourself of your blessings. Try this out – I mean, work your way through this list. (bold/italics mine). When you get to the end, your brain and heart will be in a great place. Practice teaching your mind what is TRUE.…

All Set!
It’s hard to believe, but we are already well into January. It feels like January out! I am kicking off 2016 with four things that are exciting. Chris Tiegren’s devotional – “Hearing His Voice” – wow! So far, it’s excellent. I started another “read through the Bible” in a year on YouVersion. What a great resource! On Facebook, I saw a post about a “blessing jar” – I’ve started one. It will be a great reminder. My One Word for this year is “ALL”. Check them out! Lastly, I have contacted an agency to begin the process to market my books! I am hopeful that this process will be smooth…

Getting Ready for ’16
This year – or rather 2016, I’ve decided I’m going to remind myself and document the blessings in my life. So many times the days slip by and the sweetness in life can get blurred. I want to remember it and from Whom it comes. So…I saw something on Facebook, and I’m appropriating it. I have a lovely vase that is going to become my Blessing Jar. Every time something wonderful that may seem “random” comes along, I’m going to write it down and date it and put it in the jar. Next Christmas I’m going to take them out and see what God has done in my life in…

Approaching Christmas
One of my favorite Christmas movies is “The Bishop’s Wife” with Cary Grant, Loretta Young and David Niven. I’m a sucker for old black and white movies where there was actual dialogue. The movie brings to mind some very timely questions – what are we seeking? What are we expecting? What are our motives? Do we rush around and try to do “big things” for God, and yet leave him out of the process? I hope not. Today, as I write this, I think of how the Magi traveled so far for so long to pay homage. They offered Jesus gifts and worshiped him, because they recognized he was the…

Forgiveness
Yesterday was an interesting day – full of highs and lows. At one point a very dear friend said something I construed as “hurtful”. After talking with another friend, it was suggested I go back and clarify if what I heard was what was meant. Guess what? It wasn’t. The whole thing was a mistake. Forgiveness – real forgiveness is such a gift – not just to the person who supposedly offended, but to me! God knew what he was doing when he told us to forgive each other. Freedom. Forgiveness gives us wide-open doors. Let’s go!
