Pinnacle
Reaching, always reaching – Touching the surface is not enough. Looking for hidden meaning, swirling depths. The current runs slowly, But never ceases. Staring in the pool, Seeing the reflection. What remains? The gloss of sunlit sparkle, As an echo in a dream. Reality not fleeting, Enfold me in its waves. – RG

Susan’s Song
From the moment I was aware I heard your heartbeat. Its steady rhythm soothing and strong. Wrapped in the warmth of your love and protection – Always knowing you surrounded me. Then, one day I saw your face, Your eyes looking into mine. A miracle! My Mother. Your arms around me soft and sure. A beautiful face, reflecting your love. Today, your heart is still, But the sound of its cadence plays in my memory. The wonder of the life you gave me Is as alive as when I first understood who you are. I cannot see you today, But I still feel you. Nothing will separate us – Mother…

Changes
Spinning soundlessly, arms outspread, Feeling the wind in my face and the grass under foot. Sunlight warming through the cotton shirt. Locusts singing in the trees. All the while watching the horizon – Knowing that today is different than yesterday. Sensing the change before it is seen. Catching my breath in expectation of the dream fulfilled. – RG

Mental Mosaic
The moment stole upon me Sure and swift. It took my breath away. Recollections as strong as iron And as beautiful as stained glass – A myriad of shapes and sounds. I can nearly touch it, Yet, it is so elusive – Just beyond my fingertips. The longing is intense, The reckoning, as yet, unfulfilled. Someday it will culminate. So, even this sorrow is a part Of the tapestry I weave. One day, it will be turned to joy. – RG

Horizons
Seeing you in my mind’s eye. Missing you today. As the rain streaks across the glass, I feel its fingers on my soul. Thankful, ever grateful for the moments. Longing for the time when barriers cease to exist. Constant. Hopeful. Watching. Eyes on the horizon – Waiting for you. RG

Assurance
Swirling gray above the trees, Hiding blue for us to see. And yet, I know it’s there. It never wavers, whether darkness reigns. Constant blue. Unblinking. But beyond that – just beyond, Farther than my eyes behold, There is a Hand, so strong and sure Holding the universe together. I am written on His palm. It is too wonderful for me. The Hand above the clouds. My Father holds me today.
