Place for the Heart
I put my heart up on the shelf
And do some talking to myself.
Haven’t found the way out yet,
Still, I’m leaving the regret.
Instead I see a hilltop
With views that make my heart stop
And dirt that makes my boots turn red,
Where peace shows up and hope’s not dead.
The whisper in the trees is sweet
Where cedars and the oak boughs meet.
All I want is to be there
And feel the freedom in the air.
The River flows beyond the bluff –
Oh yeah, this place – more than enough…
Enough to heal a fractured heart
And give to me a brand-new start.
