Music in Hand
Have you ever really looked at your hands? I mean, the way our fingers are not exactly straight so we can do things like pick up a single sheet of paper or make a fist or caress someone we love?
Our hands are definitely a work of art! Sensitive. Strong. Capable. Meant for good.
Did you know there are 13 bones in your wrist? Think of all the ways you can move your hand…left, right, up, down, lateral. It’s crazy! It’s divine!
Today I was playing some music for a couple of worship pastors in the Austin area. I realized, after the fact, that my hands kind of “did their thing”. They went where they were supposed to go on the keys. They kept rhythm, harmony and executed the series of chords and notes needed.
I’m not sure how. Wait – I have an idea…!
Music in Hand is actually Music in the Heart. It comes from somewhere deep within and manifests itself in a variety of ways. It might be singing, playing the trombone (right, Myron Wilson?) or playing a keyboard.
Regardless, music helps make the world a more beautiful place. I’m glad God thought it up and gave us the ability to create more. I wonder if He was humming when he made the cosmos?
I’ll be He was.
